Murals like this rarely develop in a vacuum. There was a great deal of partnership and collaboration between myself and Ilaamen and Bob Pelshaw to ensure that we honored the building’s past with a nod to it’s current use as a creative working space.

With the Clover24 mural, (as with any mural) It started with cleaning and protecting the space.

The pounce patterns are placed and the image is transferred by using a chalk filled bag to force the chalk through the paper.

Pounce patterns have been used for centuries to transfer images.

The surface is primed before painting.

The background color was blocked in first.

Additional colors are blocked in.

The top portion was completed before moving to the bottom so the scaffold would only move once.

Finished!
